Jeremy Scott Doc

“I want my clothes to live, to party, to have fun, to create a moment,” says Jeremy Scott in the trailer of the upcoming documentary Jeremy Scott: The People’s Designer.

Produced by the same guy behind “Valentino: The Last Emperor,” the film appears to focus on Scott’s first collection for Moschino and his ascent from a kid growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, to an international fashion figure. Rounding out the backstage footage, we’ve got interviews with him, his family and a host of famous friends like Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Rita Ora.

Certainly, there’s a great deal of fascination surrounding Scott right now. Since taking over as creative director of Moschino in late 2013, Scott has become one of the most visible American designers in existence, thanks in no small part to his close friendships with Cyrus, Perry and Ora. His designs, like his ties to the celebrity world, are loud and unmissable. And, most crucially for ensuring his longevity, he’s really delivered on sales. In February, Moschino was parent company Aeffe’s fastest-growing brand, leading Aeffe to up its investment in Scott’s namesake line.

The documentary will officially be released on September 18, the first day of London fashion week.
